I am here to review The Face Shop Lemon Citron Sheet mask. Or I must say sheet mask in general, because this is my first time using a sheet mask.

Direction to use:
- Wash your face and apply toner as you would usually do.
- Remove mask from the packet and gently unfold.
- Place mask on the entire face, smoothen it out to fit curves and adjust around eyes, nose and mouth.
- Remove after 10-15 minutes and pat in remaining content to absorb into the skin.
What to do with excess serum?
- Firstly, keep (store) the mask horizontally so that the serum is completely absorbed into the sheet. Even after this, there will be excess serum left inside the packet.
- You can pat it onto the sheet mask after placing it on your face, but that doesn't make sense to me because the sheet os already drenched with serum. Our skin can absorb only a specific amount of it, so that excess os actually getting wasted.
- So, you can apply the remaining serum on your neck, hands, elbows, or wherever your skin needs that extra moisture. Show your body some love!!
- I am not 100% sure if it can be stored (refrigerated) to be used the next day. But I did it. There was excess serum in the packet. I sealed it and stored it. The next day, I used the serum to massage my face. It worked the same way as it did with the sheet.
Caution:
- For external use only.
- Avoid contact with eyes.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Discontinue use if irritation or rash occurs.
- Do not use on broken/damaged skin.
- Do not store at extreme temperatures or in direct sunlight.

My experience with the product
Packaging: The Face shop lemon sheet mask comes in a white color plastic packet with necessary details written on the backside of the packet.
Colour, texture, and fragrance: The sheet mask is white in color, the material of the sheet mask is very thin, soft, and a little transparent. The essence/serum is thick, little sticky, and whitish color. The fragrance is very mild and refreshing. I don't know what exactly it smells like. (the essence tastes sweet, I didn't taste it intentionally 😜 )
I have heard a lot of amazing things about sheet masks and wanted to try them ever since then, and finally bought it. I have oily skin type and my skin looks dull at times, that's why I got the brightening sheet mask.
I followed the directions given on the packet to use the sheet mask. I have also done a little bit of research on sheet masks and found that sheet masks on does the job of serum and nothing else. So, we should use toner before the sheet mask and moisturize after a sheet mask.
This is how I used it. I began with cleansing my face with The Face Shop Rice Water bright foaming cleanser and used Plum Green Tea Toner. After toner, I used this sheet mask. When I took off the sheet mask from the packet, it was completed drenched with essence. It has a very mild and relaxing fragrance. I placed the sheet mask on my face and smoothened out the curves. I let it on my face for 15minutes (that's what the directions say).
Don't leave sheet masks on your skin for more than 10-15 minutes. Firstly, it is not necessary to leave it for longer. Secondly, if you let the sheet mask dry on your skin (overnight), the dried sheet mask will absorb moisture from your skin. This is not what the sheet mask is meant for. It will be a reverse effect on your skin.
I removed sheet mask off face after 15 minutes and patted the serum into my skin and lightly wiped off the excess serum. The essence/serum is a bit sticky, my skin felt sticky. Since I have oily skin, I left ot as it is and didn't apply moisturizer over it. The next day my skin felt plumper, soft and bright.
There was extra serum left in the packet, I applied it generously all over the neck, arms, and elbows. The serum gets absorbed into the skin very quickly and hydrates the skin amazingly. I might buy a sheet mask again in winters when my skin gets dehydrated, that's when sheet mask is actually needed. If you have very dry skin, definitely give sheet masks a try.
Sheet masks are a quick fix for dull, dehydrated, and very dry skin. Sheet masks come in handy when you need that extra boost of hydration to your skin. And the best thing to include in your pamper routine, maybe once a month or so.
Are sheet masks necessary in your skincare routine? Absolutely not. It's more like skincare "want" than "need". Your skincare routine is sorted even without sheet masks. If you have never tried it before, then it's worth giving it a try if you are curious.
Will I repurchase it? Most probably yes. I would like to try the rice and blueberry variant from The Face Shop sheet masks, but not anytime soon.
Do I recommend it? If you are looking for extra hydration and skin brightening, then yes. This sheet mask does what it claims.
Are sheet masks affordable?
In my opinion, no. Because each sheet mask retails worth 100INR and sheet masks can be used every day, considering this fact if you use sheet masks every day for a week, it will cost you 700INR. Spending 700INR a week is definitely not affordable. If you use it just once a month, it provides temporary results. Sheet mask won't provide you with any long term benefits for your skin.
The sheet masks are said to be bad for the environment. Sheet masks come with plastic packaging and few sheet mask material are not biodegradable. Hence, its not worth spending on sheet masks. It is left to you people whether to use sheet masks or not.
